The Challenge: Develop a customized, user-friendly online fulfillment system to accurately fulfill a segment of 84 Lumber’s commercial blueprint product line.
The Solution: 84 Lumber was in need of a solution that would streamline the way that they managed the order entry and fulfillment process for a segment of their commercial blueprint product line. They were manually receiving orders from their more than 475 locations nationwide, and these orders were manually entered and processed. In addition, this manual process increased the cost of blueprint production, because blueprints were printed on demand, resulting in small quantities produced per run at a high per piece print rate.
Heeter Direct developed a customized fulfillment solution, leveraging their real-time fulfillment management system to provide a user-friendly front-end ordering website for 84 Lumber. In addition, the back end fulfillment management system provides more than 60 standard, real time reports that allow 84 Lumber to monitor their blueprint usage and strategically assess future needs. These tools allow 84 Lumber to order more blueprints from their vendor, saving them up to $40 per order processed.
